San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames has floundered thus far, but Sunday's home game against the Colorado Rockies seemed like a prime opportunity to find his groove.

Through its first 33 games this season, Colorado was tied for second-to-last in baseball in ERA (5.24). In their past two games against the Giants, the Rockies had allowed 10 runs.

In the bottom of the first inning, Adames exploited Colorado's lousy pitching. The shortstop crushed a 95 mph four-seam fastball from Colorado starting pitcher German Marquez into left field for a 392-foot home run.

In Adames' second at-bat in the bottom of the third inning, he blasted an 88 mph slider from Marquez into left field for a 398-foot moonshot.

Although Colorado isn't one of their better opponents, the Giants should still feel optimistic about Adames' hot start against the Rockies.

The former Milwaukee Brewers star finished 10th in National League MVP voting last season but has struggled since signing a seven-year, $182M deal with the Giants this offseason.

Through his first 34 games this season, the 29-year-old had slashed .215/.302/.300 and had two home runs.
