During Monday's game between the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks, a replay review was initiated when a fan in the left field seats reached over and snagged a ball that should have still been in play.
It was eventually overturned and resulted in a double, as it was a clear case of fan interference.
It is not the first time it has happened in Arizona. It apparently is also not the first time it has happened with this particular fan.
The Diamondbacks are tired of it and on Tuesday announced that the fan, who has publicly identified himself as Dave McCaskill, has been banned for the remainder of the 2025 season, saying in a statement that he "has been involved in multiple offenses at Chase Field."
The Arizona Diamondbacks tell @SFGate that they have banned Dave McCaskill, the fan who interfered with a potential #SFGiants homer last night, for the rest of the 2025 season.

Whether this is a case of an overly aggressive fan trying to be a ball hawk or a deliberate attempt to keep disrupting games is irrelevant.
It's a problem, and one the Diamondbacks had to act on.
