FC Dallas player tests positive for COVID-19

On the same day that Major League Soccer announced owners and the MLS Players Association avoided a lockout by agreeing to amend the collective bargaining agreement to return to play via a tournament at the Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World amid the coronavirus pandemic, FC Dallas confirmed one of its own tested positive for COVID-19.

Angel Madison Franco of the Dallas Morning News shared the club's statement via Twitter:

Earlier in the day, Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur confirmed it was responsible for the only positive coronavirus diagnosis among 1,197 tests as part of the league's latest testing period. Just as with the FC Dallas player, the unnamed individual associated with Spurs was said to be in good health.

In April, Philadelphia Union forward Kacper Przybylko became the first MLS player to test positive for the virus after he experienced mild symptoms. One unnamed Montreal Impact employee also tested positive after reporting mild symptoms.
