The Arizona Diamondbacks confirmed on Monday that left-handed pitcher Madison Bumgarner has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a mid-back strain.

Arizona also selected the contract of righty Jeremy Beasley.
Bumgarner joined the Diamondbacks on a five-year, $85 million contract in December, and the 31-year-old suffered through a miserable start to his stint with the organization. Arizona has dropped all four games in which Bumgarner started, and he took losses in three of those outings.
Bumgarner was chased from Sunday's game versus the San Diego Padres after only two innings. He surrendered six earned runs and four homers in the losing effort.
