Report: Chiefs agree to four-year extension with All-Pro TE Travis Kelce

Aug. 13, 2020, is turning out to be a decent day for NFL tight ends.

On the same day that George Kittle reportedly agreed to a massive five-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler tweeted that Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are close to putting pen to paper on a four-year extension.

Travis Kelce and the Chiefs have agree to parameters on a four-year extension that would tie Kelce to the Chiefs for the next six seasons, sources told ESPN.

According to Fowler, the two-time First-Team All-Pro who turns 31 years old in October likely gave the reigning Super Bowl champions somewhat of a hometown discount.

As noted by Field Yates of ESPN, Kelce has more than earned the payday.

Kelce led the NFL among tight ends in 2019 with 97 catches and 1,229 receiving yards. He caught a touchdown from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter of his team's Super Bowl LIV victory over the Niners.
