It has not been the best start to the 2025-26 college basketball season for the TCU Horned Frogs, and that's putting it lightly.
First, they were upset in their season opener by New Orleans, a Southland Conference school. The Privateers beat the Horned Frogs, 78-74, at TCU's Schollmaier Arena. There's plenty of season left, but that's a tough loss to bounce back from.
To make matters worse, starting center Malick Diallo left the game with 8:29 to go in the first half with a knee injury he suffered after going up for an offensive rebound.
He left the game and didn't return, and now, less than 24 hours after the devastating loss, it's being reported that Diallo will miss the rest of this season. The 6-foot-9, 238-pound sophomore center from Bamako, Mali, suffered a torn ACL, ending his season.
TCU’s Malick Diallo will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season with a torn ACL, per release.

A brutal 24 hours for the Horned Frogs, who lost to New Orleans on Monday.
This was a tough break for Diallo, who is, unfortunately, no stranger to this type of injury.
He tore his right ACL in the first game of his senior season of high school at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. It was so bad that TCU wasn't sure if he'd even be able to play last season as a freshman, but he did recover fast and went on to play in 29 games, averaging 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per contest.
Diallo was expected to play a much bigger role for TCU this season as a starter thanks to his size, defensive ability and, specifically, his shot-blocking ability.
This will go down as a big loss for head coach Jamie Dixon's team.
