In a candid moment on Thursday's episode of "Best of Both Worlds with Flau’Jae," LSU guard Flau’Jae Johnson was joined by 13-time WNBA All-Star Sue Bird.

While the two were sharing stories about their respective careers, Johnson was quick to name LaDazhia Williams as her all-time favorite LSU teammate.

Johnson reflected on her freshman year roommate, affectionately dubbed "grandma" Williams for being 24, "ancient" by collegiate standards, but forever youthful in impact.

Johnson continued on to say, "She just gave me gems on and off the court. She used to just say, 'Flau, you just gotta chill.' She taught me how to take care of my body."

Williams arrived at LSU as a seasoned fifth-year graduate transfer after stints at South Carolina and Missouri.

She started all 34 games in 2022-23, averaging 9.9 points and 6.0 rebounds, then exploded for 13.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in LSU’s NCAA Tournament run, capping it with 20 points in the 102-85 title win over Iowa.

Her calm leadership and “just chill” mantra left an imprint on Johnson, who returned the favor by leading LSU to a 31-6 record and Elite Eight berth in 2024-25, averaging 18.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game

LSU’s 2022-23 squad, under Kim Mulkey, posted a 34-2 mark (15–1 SEC), executed one of the nation’s top offenses (82.3 ppg) and clinched the school’s inaugural women’s basketball championship.

Williams moved on to the WNBA in 2023, while Johnson continues her run with the Tigers as a third-team All-American, First-team All-SEC and NCAA champion.
