Doug Pederson was fired as the head coach of the Eagles, and now reports are starting to surface that show tension between Pederson and the franchise were building for a while. One of the more interesting reports is about Pederson threatening to quit a year ago when he was pressured by Philadelphia owner Jeffrey Lurie and GM Howie Roseman to fire offensive coordinator Mike Groh.
RE: Doug Pederson’s firing. This has been boiling since last offseason when Jeffrey/Howie Roseman pressured him to fire OC Mike Groh.

As I reported in Sept., Pederson was angry. He initially threatened to quit, per sources close to him. #Eagles didn’t take seriously then.
Groh was fired, but it seems like the damage was done between the two sides. The Eagles' underwhelming performance this season certainly did not help matters. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said that the relationship was doomed for one simple reason: "Pederson was sick of people telling him what to do."
Does that mean Pederson felt Eagles ownership and management were too controlling? If so, moving forward, will Pederson try to ensure his next job allows more freedom and control over his position? Either way, it will be fascinating to watch where both the Eagles and Pederson go from here.
