Bills' new stadium plans could lead them to temporary home?

Bills' plan for new stadium could lead them to temporary home at Penn State, Toronto?

There currently are plans for the Buffalo Bills to build a new open-air stadium in Orchard Park, but it could cause some complications for the organization.

The Bills might need to find a temporary home because the new stadium likely won't be read by the time its current lease at Highmark Stadium expires in 2023.

It's possible the stadium will be ready for play by 2025, but 2026 or 2027 are more likely start dates as the Bills still need to obtain government approvals in several areas, including funding, which could delay the timeline.

According to News 8 in Buffalo, the Bills are prepared to consider other options for home games and could set up shop in Toronto or at Penn State if they can't extend the lease at their current stadium.

Bills owner Terry Pegula is a Penn State alumnus and has donated more than $100 million to the university over the years. Toronto is also a possibility due to its close proximity to Buffalo. However, it's unclear how the NFL would feel about making teams travel to and from Canada.
