76ers star Joel Embiid disappointed with referees despite win over Hawks

The Philadelphia 76ers won Game 6 against the Atlanta Hawks 104-99 on Friday night to force a Game 7, but Joel Embiid was a little frustrated despite the victory.

The Sixers star called out the officiating after the game, saying that he believes the game wasn't called fairly.

"I just felt like it wasn't called both ways, especially because of the minimal contact that they get on the point guard, and when it comes to us, we don't get the same thing," the 76ers center told reporters, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "So I just want it called both ways. If you're going to call something like nothing on their point guard, it should be the same way and call the same thing (for) me when I get - if I get - touched."

Embiid specifically referenced an altercation with Hawks forward John Collins in the fourth quarter. Embiid was called for an offensive foul on Collins during a layup and the two went face to face before being separated.

Both Embiid and Collins received technical fouls. However, Embiid said he believes his technical should have been given to Trae Young instead because the Hawks star pushed him from behind during the altercation.

Despite the chaos, Embiid finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds and an assist in the win. Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday night.
