Report: Browns sign ex-Pro Bowl QB as injuries pile up

The Cleveland Browns have had one of the most crowded quarterback rooms in the NFL since the draft, and they have added yet another notable player to the mix at the position.

Veteran quarterback Tyler Huntley agreed to a deal with the Browns on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Huntley signed with the Miami Dolphins last September after Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion. He remained with the team for the remainder of the season and started in Weeks 4 and 17.

Prior to signing with the Dolphins, Huntley spent the majority of his first four NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. The 27-year-old shockingly made the Pro Bowl in 2022 after starting just four games in place of an injured Lamar Jackson. Huntley finished with 658 passing yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions that year. He also rushed for 137 yards and a score.

The Browns have been holding an open QB competition between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Pickett and Gabriel are both nursing hamstring injuries, while Sanders has had a shoulder issue. One of the four QBs has emerged as the clear favorite to be named the Week 1 starter.
