The LSU Tigers have just hit on one of the biggest recruiting wins of the 2026 cycle.
Brian Kelly has always been a solid recruiter, and LSU speaks for itself on the recruiting trail when it comes to the nature of the program as well as its football tradition.
That's not to say it's easy to recruit to Baton Rouge and LSU, but the Tigers have always been a draw in the recent era.
Still, they had to compete with the likes of Florida and Texas for five-star EDGE Trenton Henderson from Pensacola, Florida (Pensacola Catholic), and that's no small-time recruiting competition.
Henderson took officials to the likes of Auburn, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Alabama, Florida, USC and Texas. He also took unofficial visits to plenty of schools.
LSU's official visit came on May 30, and it was the one that stood out the most. Henderson is the newest member of the Tigers' 2026 class, a decision that was announced on Wednesday.

Henderson is a big-time recruit.
According to 247Sports, he's the No. 4 EDGE in the country and the No. 28 player overall. As a junior, he notched 50 tackles (including 18 tackles for loss), 10 sacks, 20 quarterback hurries, six passes broken up and one forced fumble.
He checks in at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, so he already has elite size for a soon-to-be college freshman EDGE.
Henderson is LSU's 12th 2026 commitment and second 5-star commitment, joining five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys. LSU's class is ranked No. 12 in the nation, though that number should keep rising for the duration of the recruiting cycle.
