Aaron Rodgers denies having 'COVID toe' condition

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has fracture, not 'COVID toe' condition

The mystery of the toe injury Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered after he tested positive for COVID-19 as an unvaccinated player before the Nov. 7 game at the Kansas City Chiefs has been put to bed, for good, by the man himself.

One day after Rodgers remarked on "The Pat McAfee Show" he was dealing with a condition commonly referred to as "COVID toe," he confirmed to reporters he actually has a fracture in the pinkie digit.

Per NFL rules, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player had to isolate away from the Packers for a minimum of 10 days following his positive test. As Rob Demovsky of ESPN notes, Rodgers fractured the toe during that quarantine period.

Per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Rodgers added he was "joking" when he told McAfee he had "COVID toe" coming off his bout with the virus.

Earlier in the day, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Rodgers likely wouldn't practice Wednesday or Thursday but could return for Friday's session ahead of this Sunday's matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams that comes before a much-needed bye week. Green Bay's QB1 will play through discomfort for the third consecutive weekend and then hope to get right for the Dec. 12 contest against the Chicago Bears.
