Kevin Durant leaves game with left knee injury, will have MRI Sunday

Kevin Durant appeared to suffer a knee injury Saturday night, and will undergo an MRI on Sunday to survey the seriousness.

Durant came up limping after colliding with teammate Bruce Brown while defending a fast break during the Nets' game against the Pelicans. He hobbled toward the bench then tried to walk it off, but ultimately signaled to his coaches that he needed to come out of the game.

Once play had been stopped, Durant walked back to the locker room on his own power, trailed by trainers. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported not long later that Durant would get an MRI on the knee Sunday.

Durant had scored 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting and was 1-for-2 from deep in 12 minutes before the injury. He also finished with three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.

Entering Saturday, Durant led the NBA in scoring with 29.7 points per game and was widely considered an MVP candidate. He was also averaging 7.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game, both of which ranked second on the Nets behind James Harden.
