Packers HC Matt LaFleur: Nathaniel Hackett will 'figure it out' in Denver, 'no doubt about it'

Under first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett, the Denver Broncos have squeaked their way to a 1-1 mark heading into Week 3 of the 2022 season.

It's still early, but Hackett's decision-making has already come under attack. Boos were heard several times at Mile High last week against the Houston Texans. Broncos fans also loudly counted down with the play clock after several clock management snafus.

While it's been an inauspicious beginning for Hackett, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur believes his former offensive coordinator will eventually right the ship in Denver.

"I've got all the confidence in the word that he's going to do a great job," LaFleur told reports on Wednesday. "He'll figure it out, no doubt about it. So everybody needs to stop hitting the panic button down there."

Hackett also received support from another young head coach. San Francisco 49ers head man Kyle Shanahan, who has gone through his own struggles, preached patience with Hackett in Denver.

"Early on, it is a little bit harder especially when you're doing it with a bunch of new players. That takes time," Shanahan told George Stoai of the Denver Gazzette. "He's done this for a while and you guys have a good coach there and a very good offensive play caller."
