On Saturday, Mike Trout became just the 59th player in MLB history to join the prestigious 400-home run club.
Trout all but saved him a place in Cooperstown after this. What makes this milestone even more special is that he has accomplished it entirely with one team — the Los Angeles Angels.

Drafted 25th overall by the Angels in 2009, Trout has long been the brightest star in Anaheim. While he hasn’t found much postseason success, he remains the shining light for Angels fans. This season has been another tough one, marred by injuries. He’s batting just .229 with 22 home runs and has struggled with strikeouts.
Still, Trout’s resume speaks volumes. He’s an 11-time All-Star, three-time AL MVP, nine-time Silver Slugger Award winner and even led the American League in stolen bases back in 2012. If not for repeated injuries — and an ownership group that has struggled to build a contender around him — Trout might already be approaching 500 home runs and entering the conversation as one of the all-time greats.
Hitting 400 home runs is no small feat. As his career winds down, baseball fans can celebrate both what he’s achieved — and wonder what might have been.
