NFL coordinator believes Micah Parsons could become best edge-rusher in the NFL

Micah Parsons' pass-rushing prowess continues to wow the NFL.

On Monday, ESPN released its 2023 top 10 edge-rusher list. Voters, which included a combination of coaches, execs and scouts, ranked the Cowboys linebacker at No. 3 behind Cleveland's Myles Garrett and San Francisco's Nick Bosa.

"It wouldn't surprise me if he's No. 1 by next year," an NFL coordinator said, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. "His talent is undeniable."

Parsons, a 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, continued developing into of the best players in the league last season. In 17 games, he recorded the seventh-most sacks (13.5) in the NFL and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting for a second consecutive season.

The 24-year-old could finally capture DPOY this season. Per OddsChecker, he holds the best odds of winning the award.

The LB should be stronger, too, as he's focused on bulking up this offseason. Parsons, who played at 245 pounds last season, is gaining 10 pounds to increase his durability.

"It's about stability," Parsons recently said of the change via Gabriel Trevino of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Strengthening the joints, strengthening the knees, shoulders, so all the nagging injuries don't come across."

Per Pro Football Focus, Parsons took 693 snaps on the line of scrimmage last season, 303 more than his rookie season. Although this helped Dallas increase its sack total from 41 to 54, Parsons tired at the end of the season. After logging 12 sacks through his first 12 games, he only had 1.5 in his final six games.

The added strength could help Parsons maintain his production throughout the season and help him become the best pass-rusher in the league.
