Watch: Purdue's Zach Edey and UConn's Dan Hurley beef after tough call

Big games get heated. That's just baked into the moment. As such, it was expected that Monday night's March Madness finale between Purdue and UConn was going to be an intense affair — and that expectation was met in the first half.

The central storyline in the game was the matchup between the two goliaths. Purdue trotted out 7-foot-4, 300-pound senior center Zach Edey while UConn countered with 7-foot-2, 280-pound big man Donovan Clingan.

It was expected to be a true heavyweight matchup and considering the moment, things were expected to get gritty.

Perhaps nobody expected UConn coach Dan Hurley to get in the middle of that matchup, though. Not literally, of course, but Hurley objected to a tough call involving Edey setting a pretty nasty screen.

As the game went into timeout, the Huskies' coach and the 7-foot-4 center crossed paths and apparently shared a few pleasantries.

Hurley is known as a fiery coach and personality, but let's chalk it up to frustration over the fact that Edey went into halftime with 14 points — all in the paint.
