Watch: Bayer Leverkusen fans swarm field after club wins first Bundesliga title

Bayer Leverkusen fans were thrilled after the club clinched its first Bundesliga title.

After Bayer Leverkusen cruised to a 5-0 victory in Sunday's match against Werder Bremen, Matt Ford of The Guardian shared a video of fans rushing onto the pitch to celebrate the club's accomplishment.

Bayer Leverkusen's victory ended Bayern Munich's run of 11 straight titles in the German league. This is a testament to Xabi Alonso's managerial abilities, who's already turned the club into a winner in his second season.

"This is a very special moment for the club," Alonso said, via Tom Hamilton of ESPN. "After 120 years, to win the Bundesliga for the first time is something extraordinary. The players really performed; they were a top team together. I am so proud of all of them. For me, it's an honor to work here."

Bayer Leverkusen (25-4-0) could still make more history. If it wins or ties in its next five matches in the Bundesliga, it will become the first club to go undefeated.

Per The Athletic, it already holds the record for most matches without a loss (43), so don't be surprised if this happens.
