Watch: Knicks' Jalen Brunson receives MVP chants in road playoff game vs. 76ers

The drive from New York to Philadelphia is roughly two hours, so it's no surprise Knicks fans showed up to support star point guard Jalen Brunson in Game 4 against the 76ers.

On his X account, John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia pointed out Brunson received MVP chants from New York fans at the Wells Fargo Center. The 76ers led the Knicks 49-47 at halftime, but New York went on a 17-5 run in the second quarter.

Brunson led the charge. Through two quarters, he had 23 points, seven assists and two rebounds on 10-of-15 shooting in 22 minutes.

The NBA recently announced its 2023-24 MVP finalists (Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic).

Although Brunson missed the cut, it shouldn't detract from the best year of his career.

In 77 regular-season games, Brunson set career highs in scoring (28.7), assists (6.7) and rebounds (3.6), making his first All-Star Game this season.

The Knicks lead the 76ers 2-1 in their series. If they win the series and go on a deep playoff run, Brunson's stardom will continue to grow. The Knicks haven't advanced past the second round of the playoffs since 1999-00.
