Is New York Yankees center fielder Aaron Judge breaking out of his slump?

In the top of the first inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, he crushed a 441-foot home run to left center field, giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead. He also homered in a 15-3 victory against Milwaukee on Saturday.

Judge, 32, is off to one of the worst starts of his career. Through 28 games, the 2022 American League MVP has a .190 batting average, a .719 OPS and a .328 on-base percentage. Yankee fans are frustrated he's struggled. They booed him in a loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on April 20.

Despite his troubles at the plate, the Yankees captain is confident he'll eventually catch fire.

"I'm still Aaron Judge," Judge recently told ESPN's Jorge Castillo. "I don't think that's changed."

The Yankees (18-10) are first in the AL East and have an excellent lineup, which features star right fielder Juan Soto and first baseman Anthony Rizzo. They're tied for third in baseball in home runs (34).

Judge turning it around would make an elite team even stronger, though. New York is 14-2 when scoring five runs or more.
