Tom Brady's broadcasting debut set for Week 1 of NFL season

Tom Brady ended his NFL career with a wild-card loss to the Cowboys. Nearly two years later, he'll make his regular-season debut as a FOX NFL commentator in Dallas when the Browns come to town in Week 1 of the 2024 season.

Fox Sports revealed its "Game of the Week" for the opening week of the upcoming NFL season on Monday, and it features two one-and-done 2023 playoff teams.

The Browns' season ended in Houston with a 45-14 loss to the Texans while the Cowboys were embarrassed at home against the Packers, 48-32, in the wild-card round.

Both quarterbacks — Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott — are under pressure to produce in 2024. Watson is in his third season in Cleveland after an unimpressive first two years with the organization.
Prescott hasn't gotten the Cowboys over their playoff hump and is entering the final year of his contract.

Brady, who's previously lamented the poor quality of play he's observed the past few seasons, probably won't hold anything back if either franchise quarterback gets off to a rough start.

Prescott is 3-5 all-time in Week 1 as an NFL starting quarterback. In his eight starts, he is 187 of 295 (63.4 percent) for 2,016 yards (252 yards per game), nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He lost consecutive Week 1 meetings to Brady and the Bucs in 2021 and 2022.

Meanwhile, Watson is 1-4 in the first week of the season all-time, going 85 of 148 (57.4 percent) for 953 yards (190.6 yards per game), seven touchdowns and five interceptions.

The complete NFL schedule for all 32 teams will be revealed on Wednesday on NFL Network and ESPN2.
