A high school freshman QB just signed a multiyear NIL deal

Peyton Houston is only a freshman in high school, but he's already enough of an intriguing quarterback prospect to have multiple big-time college football offers.

Despite his young age and the fact that he's literally just a year outside of middle school, it's being reported that Houston has just inked a multi-year NIL deal with Leaf Trading Cards.

The youngster signed Lionheart Sports Agency last week for NIL representation and they've apparently been working all week to get him his first endorsement.

2027 quarterback Peyton Houston has inked his first NIL deal, entering an exclusive, multi-year partnership with Leaf Trading Cards.

The agreement was negotiated by Team IFA and Lionheart Sports Agency.

“I’m grateful to God to have a platform that I can use, to not only impact myself but my entire team and community,” Houston said in a statement, per On3. “It’s a blessing to work with one of the top card brands in Leaf and I cannot wait to continue to grow with them in the future.”

You may be wondering how a high school freshman can sign a NIL deal — and for the record, it is nuts — but Houston is from Shreveport, La., and the Louisiana High School Athletic Association does allow high schoolers to make money via publicity rights without losing eligibility.

As to whether or not Houston will be worth having his own trading cards? Who knows because, as pointed out multiple times, he's literally still a freshman in high school. Anything can happen between now and the time he steps on a college campus.

With that said, it hasn't stopped colleges from offering the young quarterback. At the time of this writing, he already boasts verbal scholarship offers from Arkansas, Colorado, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M, among others.
