The Celtics might be the most disrespected 64-win team in NBA history.
Despite dominating the league for the better part of the season, the C's haven't been rewarded with honors that typically come with being a juggernaut team. It was revealed this week that only Jayson Tatum received an All-NBA nod, a few months after only Tatum and Jaylen Brown made the All-Star team.
In comparison, the 2016-17 Warriors, who won 67 games, were rewarded with three All-NBA nods (Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green) and four All-Star selections (Curry, Durant, Green and Klay Thompson).
Brown's All-NBA snub has caused an uproar among several of his teammates. After Boston's 126-110 Game 2 win over the Pacers, in which Brown tied his playoff career-high 40 points, the likes of Tatum, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla and Derrick White called out the NBA voters — and didn't hold back.
"100% got snubbed... Big time snub. I don't get it."

"I think he cares about it in a way that motivates him and I think he doesn't really care about it at all because he understands that ... winning is the most important thing ... I really enjoy coaching him and really… pic.twitter.com/sVok69UatA
Jayson Tatum on Jaylen Brown not making All NBA:
— Noa Dalzell (@NoaDalzellNBA) May 24, 2024
“We didn’t talk about that during shootaround — we just focused on winning the game tonight. We all felt like, internally, that he should have made one of the All NBA teams, so it was a shame to see that he didn’t.” pic.twitter.com/Ddyo85oIbe
Brown himself had a rather interesting take when asked about the snub.
"We're two games away from the Finals, so honestly I don't have the time to give a [expletive]," he said.
Brown sacrificed a lot of his scoring load this season to accommodate Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, both of whom thrived in their first year in Boston. Brown saw his shot attempts go down from 20.9 to 17.9, but he remained a high-level scorer the Celtics could count upon on a nightly basis.
