Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington offered an update on the status of slugger Miguel Sano on Sunday afternoon as he continues to work his way back from a knee injury that has sidelined him for the past month.
It turns out that Sano is going to need a few more days before he can return due to one of the most unlikely injuries you could ever imagine, and what might be the most bizarre injury of the 2024 season to date.
Sano suffered a setback due to a heating pad mishap that resulted in him burning his knee due to leaving a heating pad on it for too long.
A new one: Miguel Sano had a small setback in his rehab in his recovery, that’ll delay him a couple days.

He left a heat pack on his knee too long without padding and burned himself.
No details on the severity of the burn were made available, but the fact that it even happened is nothing short of bizarre.
In 71 at-bats this season, Sano is hitting .263 with one home run and five RBI. He did not play at all during the 2023 season and was limited to just 20 games during the 2022 season. The last time he played a full year in the majors was the 2021 season with the Minnesota Twins when he hit 30 home runs in 135 games.
