If there's one thing NBA fans have learned about Anthony Edwards this postseason, it's that the Minnesota Timberwolves young star never lacks confidence. Even if it's a task that requires the Timberwolves to make history, Edwards remains as confident as ever in himself and his team.
That stood true with Edwards' optimistic comments following Sunday's Game 3 loss, leaving the Timberwolves in a 3-0 hole — a deficit no NBA team has ever overcome. As The Athletic's Sam Amick detailed, Edwards' message was simple: "Time to make history."
“Time to make history, fellas,” Edwards shouted. “I still don’t feel like they can beat us, bro. We haven’t all been clicking at one time. One game. One game.”
While it may feel like Edwards is overly optimistic with these comments, they're far from surprising. His confidence never seems to waver and after witnessing this Timberwolves team win three games in Denver against the Nuggets last series, why should it?
But even still, the Dallas Mavericks deserve their flowers for not only stealing two road games from Minnesota, but fighting off a team scrapping to get back in this series in Game 3. Dallas gutted out a 116-107 victory.
Through three games, the Mavericks appear to be the far superior team, and for the Timberwolves to have a shot at getting back in this series, they'll need to solve multiple issues immediately.
