Anthony Edwards backs up talk to keep Timberwolves alive in WCF

With the Minnesota Timberwolves facing elimination, Anthony Edwards insisted "I'm always positive." He backed up that positivity with in a 105-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, forcing a Game 5.

Edwards hit a dagger shot from just inside the three-point arc to give the Timberwolves a late five-point lead, part of a 29-point, 10-rebound, nine-assist effort.

In a series where the Wolves had trouble closing out games, they were the ones who hit big shots late, including a brilliant Naz Reid scoop off a Kyle Anderson pass to seal the game.

That's not to say they didn't open the door for the Mavericks. After Luka Doncic fouled out Karl-Anthony Towns on a three-shot foul with 1:38 to go, Edwards fouled Doncic on a desperation three-pointer that went in, to cut the lead to three.

But Doncic couldn't convert the four-point play, and Minnesota escaped with a win in a series that, while it's 3-1, has only been decided by eight total points.

It was a comeback game for Towns, who was limited to 29 minutes by foul trouble, but he scored 25 points on just 13 shots. He made three of his four three-pointers in the final 5:41 after starting the series 3-for-22 from distance.

It was a gutty win for the Timberwolves and a redemption game for Towns after a flood of criticism. It's still a tough road to come back from 3-0 down, but they get to come home for Game 5.

After all, the Celtics forced a Game 7 just last season after falling behind 3-0 on the Eastern Conference Finals. Just don't tell Anthony Edwards what happened in that Game 7.
