Baltimore Ravens star tight end Mark Andrews met with reporters on Tuesday and discussed (among other topics) his experience in helping save a woman's life during a mid-flight medical emergency in February.
Ravens TE Mark Andrews on assisting a woman who experienced a medical emergency on a flight in February: "It's a scary moment when someone in front of you is going unconscious, but the really cool thing about that situation is to see all the people that come together.” pic.twitter.com/RDuhDt80cG

"The doctors, the nurses on the plane and the flight attendants did an incredible job, really helping someone in, you don't know if it's a near-death experience," the 28-year-old said. "Me, obviously being a Type 1 diabetic, lending my tester kit, she was fine, but really big props to everyone around — the doctors, the nurses and the flight attendants that were on their A-game."
The three-time Pro Bowler provided fans an inside look last season at his experience with Type 1 diabetes and just being able to play the game he loves.
Earlier this season, we learned about Mark Andrews' Type-1 diabetes condition, as he has to monitor his blood sugar levels whenever he gets off the field.

Now we get this story…. Wow. Absolutely amazing. pic.twitter.com/JPh6zi75DA https://t.co/iGD7r3Afo8
Andrews has been one of the best tight ends in the league since he was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He's quickly become one of the organization's best tight ends in franchise history and a favorite target of MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson since the signal-caller was drafted in 2018.
Andrews is already the third-leading receiver in Ravens history and needs just two touchdown receptions to pass retired tight end Todd Heap's team record of 41 scores. Andrews also ranks third in targets (563) and catches (381).
The Oklahoma product is looking to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2023 campaign where he played in a career-low 10 contests due to a quad injury and later an ankle issue. Despite missing seven contests, Andrews still led Baltimore in touchdown receptions (six) and finished second in catches (45).
