Who the Steelers will start at quarterback Week 1 this season remains up for debate.
Head coach Mike Tomlin has said several times that Russell Wilson has the "pole position" to be the starter, but Pittsburgh would be short-sighted to not give Justin Fields a chance to prove he's more worthy.
Following the fourth day of OTAs, it seems the team is going to give Fields that opportunity.

That decision is far from being made, however. So in the meantime, Fields is just trying to perfect his craft.
"I think we've been growing, getting better each and every day," Fields said. "I think the main thing I'm trying to get out of it is working on my craft, the little things, being detailed."
Fields has proved countless times why he was drafted as the No. 11 overall pick in 2021, but for as many positive plays he has made, it seems he has had just as many negative. If he can clean up the little things, he could end up surpassing Wilson on the depth chart.
The 25-year-old has flashed his upside, throwing for 4,804 yards and 33 touchdowns and rushing for 1,800 yards and 12 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
Tomlin already said he hopes to unlock Fields' full potential.
"Oh my god, man, he oozes talent and potential," Tomlin told reporters in March. "There's a lot of meat left on that bone and I'm excited about working on extracting it."
There is plenty of offseason left to do just that. As for Fields, he's looking to continue building a rapport with his new teammates, whom he says have been impressing early.
"A lot of guys are standing out," Fields concluded. "Of course, I'm new too, so I'm building those relationships with guys."
Wilson vs. Fields will be one of the most watched training-camp battles this summer. Fields seems to think he has a real shot at winning it and so should the Steelers.
