Tigers riding with their 'City Connect' uniforms during win streak

It's been an interesting season for the Detroit Tigers.

On one hand, their offense has looked putrid at times and their bullpen, which started out the season hot, is starting to flutter. On the other, they've got arguably one of the best starting rotations in all of baseball (Tarik Skubal; 2.25 ERA, Jack Flaherty; 3.84 ERA; and Reese Olson 1.92 Era) and there's reason to believe some of Detroit's young bats are figuring it out.

Spencer Torkelson is starting to hit home runs, Colt Keith has hit .362 with an OPS of .906 in May and, despite a rough month, Riley Greene profiles as one of the better hitters in the American League.

The Tigers are even getting better-than-average contributions from platoon players like Matt Vierling, who led Detroit to a 14-11 win with a walk-off home run on Sunday.

That win was the third in a row for Detroit, which doesn't seem like a big deal on the surface, but it was massive for the Tigers because they came into Memorial Day weekend riding a five-game skid.

The Tigers needed to turn things around quickly or risk falling behind in the AL Central. They did so in a big way over the weekend, taking three of four from the struggling Toronto Blue Jays and, in the meantime, they've been rocking their "City Connect" jerseys.

They were meant to only wear them on Fridays during the season, but Friday night's win led to the jerseys on Saturday, which then became Sunday.

After the walk-off, Vierling said he wouldn't be surprised if the jerseys followed the Tigers into the week, and the team's official Twitter handle seemed to agree.

Love 'em or hate 'em, those jerseys are here to stay while the Tigers keep winning. Baseball is a superstitious sport, after all.

At the time of this writing, the Tigers are 26-27 and 9.5 games back of first place in the AL Central.
