Any lingering rumors that Bronny James could return to college for one more season ended on Wednesday.
Bronny tested as one of the fastest and most explosive athletes at the NBA draft combine in Chicago, faring well in shooting drills and scoring 13 points in a scrimmage. He also impressed at a heavily attended pro day at the Lakers' practice facility last week. https://t.co/wtyfLGOeUZ pic.twitter.com/m0kMK0xohp

The oldest son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James decided in early April to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft, enter the NCAA transfer portal and maintain his college eligibility. The move gave him a fallback option to return to school for one more year should his pre-draft workouts not go as planned.
Bronny arrived at USC ranked 20th in the 2023 ESPN 100 rankings and as the sixth-rated point guard in the class of 2023.
He suffered cardiac arrest during a July practice with the Trojans and was rushed to the ICU of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Bronny worked his way back onto the court late last year and was medically cleared at the end of November.
The 19-year-old finished the season with just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 19.4 minutes per game across 25 contests (six starts), while recording a .366/.267/.676 shooting line.
It was reported on Tuesday that Bronny had "over 10 workout invites" but was only going to visit "a couple of those." The two known teams the teenager plans to work out for are the Lakers and Phoenix Suns.
The Suns currently hold the No. 22 overall pick in the June 26 draft, while the Lakers might only pick 55th overall. Los Angeles could, however, retain its own No. 17 pick if the New Orleans Pelicans defer the selection until 2025, as it was part of the Anthony Davis trade.
The Lakers will find out the Pelicans' decision on Saturday.
