Eye-popping stat highlights Iga Swiatek's dominance in fourth round of French Open

Iga Swiatek wasted no time in one of the most dominant French Open performances in recent memory.

On Sunday at Roland-Garros, Swiatek punched her ticket to the quarterfinals after defeating Anastasia Potapova, 6-0, 6-0, in just 40 minutes.

According to tennis analytics expert Jeff Sackmann, Swiatek only lost 10 points, tying Ashleigh Barty for the fewest points lost in a tour-level match since 2010.

Sackmann added one of the most famous French Open victories came in the 1988 final when Steffi Graff defeated Natasha Zvereva in 34 minutes (including a rain delay). However, even Zvereva scored 13 points.

That may be why Swiatek seemed surprised with herself following the outstanding showing.

"I was just really focused and in the zone," Swiatek said after the match, via Jerome Pugmire of the Associated Press. "It went pretty quickly, pretty weird."

Swiatek has recently dominated the clay court and is aiming for her third consecutive French Open title. On Tuesday, the 23-year-old will face Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova.

Don't be surprised if she wins this match. As of Sunday, FanDuel gives Swiatek the best odds (-200) to win the French Open ahead of Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Coco Gauff.

Although Gauff has lower odds than Sabalenka and Rybakina, she may present Swiatek's stiffest competition. On Sunday, Gauff dispatched unseeded Elisabetta Cocciaretto, 6-1, 6-2 in 60 minutes.

Still, it's hard to bet against Swiatek, the No. 1 player in the world. Per ESPN Stats and Information, she is the first women's player since Ana Ivanovic in 2008 to win a match in the fourth round or later at the French Open without dropping a game.
