After their 78-74 loss against the Atlanta Dream, the Aces now sit at 4-2. This is an unusual start to the season in comparison with their previous years. There are a couple problems that seem to be holding them back.

In their most recent championship winning season, the Aces did not lose until their eighth game. To already have two losses after six games is not a positive sign.
One of the main issues that has arised is the health of their star point guard, Chelsea Gray. She is a seasoned veteran and one of the best passers in the WNBA.
Gray has not played a single minute this season due to the foot injury she inherited last season. There also is no timetable for her return meaning Las Vegas can not fully prepare for her absence.
Due to the lack of depth on the roster, in the two games the Aces have lost they seem to fall apart in the fourth quarter. A large issue could be the major minutes that the star players need to play in order to be competitive.
Guards, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young consistently are playing more than 35 minutes in contests. Without Gray, it seems there is a lack of faith in other players at this position.

If a major winning streak does not bloom from the Aces, there could be many games where they are no longer favored.
