Last week, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark sent shockwaves through the basketball world by suggesting that she's been unfairly targeted by her peers in the WNBA.
"I feel like I'm getting hammered. I just — I don't know," Clark said.
The comments may have led to Chicago Sky's players — at least one of them — making a concerted effort to further infuriate Clark. During Saturday's game, Clark was on the receiving end of a cheap shot from Sky guard Chennedy Carter, who hip-checked the Fever rookie and knocked her to the floor.
Carter would be assessed only a common foul for the non-basketball play, but would later be handed a flagrant foul by the WNBA.
To make matters worse, Carter refused to talk about her dangerous play.
In light of Clark getting targeted, Warriors star Draymond Green feels it's time for Fever to "invest in an enforcer" whose job would be to protect their prized rookie.

Green is obviously speaking from experience. He's excelled as the enforcer for Stephen Curry for over a decade, often shielding his star player from both opponents and unruly fans.
In a 2021 interview with Fox Sports, Curry highlighted the importance of having Green always watching his back. "If there were two me's, it might not be as loud in the locker room as it needs to be at times," Curry said. "And if there were two of him, nobody would know when to shut up. It's the perfect balance."
So, who should be Clark's enforcer? Some have floated the name of Liz Cambage, who currently plays in China after her controversial departure from the WNBA in 2022. Cambage had developed a notorious reputation for being an on-court bully during her time in the league, for which she received numerous fines and ejections. She even got pulled from Australia's Tokyo Olympics team for an on-court incident.
While signing Cambage could be an extreme solution, the Fever need someone to protect Clark from bullies. Otherwise, the likes of Carter are bound to continue to target the NCAA scoring record holder.
