NHL bets: Connor McDavid prop bets ahead of the Stanley Cup Final

It has taken almost a decade since his professional debut, but Connor McDavid is finally going to play in a Stanley Cup Final. And you know what that means: There are plenty of prop bets you can place on his upcoming performance.

The Edmonton Oilers captain and top-line center enters his first Cup Final leading all skaters this postseason with 31 points, and he is heading into Game 1 on a hot streak. Here are a few prop bets at DraftKings you should be aware of — and whether they are a good value — before Saturday's series opener.

Anytime goal scorer in Game 1: +135. As previously mentioned, No. 97 is the points leader in this year's playoffs. He enters Game 1 with two goals in his last four games and three during Edmonton's six-game series against the Dallas Stars. McDavid also scored twice in a 5-3 loss to the Big Cats at Amerant Bank Arena during the regular season, so finding the back of the net on the road this weekend is definitely in the cards.

Teammate Zach Hyman and Panthers forward Sam Reinhart have shorter odds of scoring in Game 1 — +105 and +130, respectively — although both players also tallied three goals in the conference finals. At +135 odds, it's worth it to bet on McDavid here.

Over/Under 1.5 points in Game 1: O -105, U -125. It's interesting that DK is leaning on the Under here given the heater McDavid is on. The big reason he is leading all skaters in points heading into the Final is that he has been an elite set-up man, registering 26 assists through 18 games. Over his last four games against the Stars, he tallied two goals and a whopping six assists, including Game 4 in Edmonton where he pitched in as a helper three different times.

McDavid also hit the Over on points in three of his last four games played and four out of six against Dallas, according to Covers. With that in mind, betting him to hit the Over in Game 1 in Florida looks like a good choice.

To record five-plus points in the series: -2000. McDavid is the favorite in this category given how frequently he has been on the scoresheet lately, and rightfully so. However, this price is pretty steep.

You would be better off with a broader prop and wagering on McDavid to end the series with the most points. He's the favorite at DK in that category at reasonable +140 odds.
