On Monday, more than 672 golfers, ranging from major champions to science teachers, competed in 36-hole Final Qualifying events across 10 sites. With 44 spots in the 2024 U.S. Open on the line, there's a reason they call it "Golf's Longest Day."
Big names, including 2013 Masters champion Adam Scott, LIV Golf star Joaquin Niemann, and European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, all entered Final Qualifying in a last-ditch effort to crack the field at Pinehurst No. 2, but how many of them made the cut? Let's break down the U.S. Open Final Qualifying results to see who played their way in and who will have to wait for a miracle.
The 60th ranked golfer in the world is using a carry bag, fist pumping chip-ins and grinding his ass off to get into his 92nd straight Major.

If that doesn't make you love Qualifiers, I can't help you.
Qualifiers: Mark Hubbard, Adam Svensson, Rico Hoey, Davis Thompson, Greyson Sigg, Aaron Rai, Ashton McCullough (amateur)
Failed to qualify: Keith Mitchell, Matt Wallace, Ben Griffin, Sam Ryder, Doug Ghim, Stewart Cink, Maverick McNealy, Charley Hoffman
Notes: Six of the seven qualifiers from Ontario are full-time PGA Tour pros. This was a loaded qualifier, so it's tough to see talented players like Mitchell, Griffin and McNealy miss the cut.
Qualifiers: David Puig (LIV), Omar Morales (amateur), John Chin, Charles Reiter
Failed to qualify: Matt Jones (LIV), Taylor Montgomery, Barclay Brown, Preston Summerhays (amateur)
Notes: Puig was one of just two LIV Golf players to qualify for the U.S. Open on Monday. Of the 17 LIV golfers who attempted to qualify, 15 missed the cut.
Qualifiers: Matt Kuchar, Daniel Berger, Dean Burmester (LIV), Luke Clanton (amateur), Willie Mack III
Failed to qualify: Joaquin Niemann (LIV), Anirban Lahiri (LIV), Graeme McDowell (LIV), Charl Schwartzel (LIV), Peter Uihlein (LIV), Branden Grace (LIV), Cameron Tringale (LIV), Luke Donald, Patrick Rodgers
Notes: Niemann, the No. 1-ranked player on LIV this season, came one agonizing stroke short of joining a four-man playoff for the last available spot. He'll likely miss the third major of the year despite being considered a top-20 player. Burmester, coming off an impressive T12 finish at the PGA Championship, was the second and final LIV golfer to crack the U.S. Open field on Monday.
Qualifiers: Jackson Buchanan (amateur), Chris Petefish, Frederik Kjettrup (amateur)
Failed to qualify: Jason Dufner, Christo Lamprecht, Ted Potter Jr., Hudson Swafford (LIV)
Notes: Chris Petefish has missed the cut nine times in 12 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour this season, and now he's heading to the U.S. Open for his first major championship. Golf is a funny game.
Qualifiers: Tim Widing, Isaiah Salinda, Wells Williams (amateur)
Failed to qualify: Kieran Vincent (LIV), Lucas Herbert (LIV), Sebastian Munoz (LIV), Marc Leishman (LIV), Jimmy Walker, Kevin Chappell
Notes: Wells Williams just finished up his sophomore year at Vanderbilt. He'll have a decent answer when family members ask him, "So, what did you do this summer?" LIV Golf struck out in Maryland.
Qualifiers: Benjamin James (amateur), Max Greyserman, Andrew Svoboda, Jim Herman
Failed to qualify: Chris Gotterup, Michael Thorbjornsen
Notes: James lost the 2024 NCAA Championship by one after being assessed a one-stroke penalty for slow play during the first round. Punching his ticket to the U.S. Open is at least a nice consolation prize. Thorbjornsen, the Stanford star and No. 3 amateur in the world, failed to make the cut.
Qualifiers: Frankie Capan III, Brian Campbell, Sam Bennett, Chesson Hadley, Webb Simpson, Carter Jenkins, Harry Higgs
Failed to qualify: Satoshi Kodaira, Miles Russell (amateur), Harold Varner III (LIV), Alex Smalley, Bill Haas
Notes: Bennett, who took the world by storm at the 2023 Masters, is back for his fourth career major championship start. Keep an eye on Harry Higgs, who qualified in a playoff after winning back-to-back tournaments on the KFT.
Qualifiers: Justin Lower, Seamus Power, Brendon Todd, Gunnar Broin (amateur), Chris Naegel

Failed to qualify: Luke List, Hayden Buckley, Bo Van Pelt, Andrew Putnam, Jhonattan Vegas, K.H. Lee
Notes: This was a loaded site, so congratulations to Kansas Jayhawks senior Broin on beating multiple PGA Tour pros and making it through.
Qualified: Zac Blair, Beau Hossler, Carson Schaake, Cameron Davis
Failed to qualify: Adam Scott, Troy Merritt, Zach Johnson
UNBELIEVABLE PLAYOFF DRAMA!

Adam Scott chips in and Cam Davis shows nerves of steel by rolling a birdie right behind him! pic.twitter.com/6MqYheJG5p
Notes: Scott lost to Davis, his fellow countryman, in a thrilling playoff to miss out on a qualifying spot. The 2013 Masters champ is now in serious danger of ending his incredible streak of 91 straight major starts.
Qualifiers: Joey Vrzich, Colin Prater (amateur)
Notes: This is what makes "Golf's Longest Day" so special. Prater is a 29-year-old science teacher and golf coach at Cheyenne Moutain High School in Colorado, and now he'll be playing in the U.S. Open at Pinehurst. Prater was one of nine amateurs to qualify on Monday.
