Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb discussed last season's severe knee injury with reporters on Wednesday for the first time since tearing his ACL, MCL, medial capsule and meniscus during the team's Week 2 "Monday Night Football" game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this past September.
Chubb went down with the injury after taking a hard hit from Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick during a first-and-goal rushing attempt. Due to the nature of the injury, ESPN decided not to show a replay of the play on its broadcast.
The four-time Pro Bowler said on Wednesday that he didn't blame Fitzpatrick for the incident and didn't think it was a dirty hit.
Though Chubb was relegated to watching the Browns' OTAs on Wednesday and currently has no timeline for his return to the field, the bruising back said he's "getting better every day."

The 28-year-old Georgia product also talked about how helpful his teammates have been in getting him through his ongoing recovery.

"The team did a great job of being there for me. I was down mentally for a while," Chubb said. "When you get hurt, it's one thing, but when you get hurt again and you already know what you have to go through, the entire process — surgery, rehab — it's a non-stop battle every day and my team did a great job just being there for me. I was around the building for them, and they did a great job, made the playoffs and had a great run."
With the star former second-round pick's status for the start of the regular season very much up in the air, the Browns have added multiple running backs as insurance. Joining Chubb and 24-year-old Jerome Ford in the running backs room are D'Onta Foreman and Nyheim Hines.
