The future of popular NFL Network show “Good Morning Football” got a little clearer on Wednesday.
Jason McCourty, a former Super Bowl champion and one of four hosts of the popular morning show along with Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager and Jamie Erdahl, reportedly won’t be returning, according to The Athletic.
McCourty also hosts the “Double Coverage podcast” with his twin brother, Devin.
“GMFB” has aired just a few select episodes over the last few months — three during the 2024 NFL Draft and one during the 2024 schedule release — while on hiatus as production of the show transitions from New York to Los Angeles.
The cross-country move was cited by The Athletic as the reason for McCourty leaving the show. In a cost-saving measure, the NFL elected to host the show from its league headquarters as opposed to renting studio space from regional sports network SNY in New York.
Erdahl has already confirmed she will stay on when “GMFB” relaunches on a yet-to-be-determined date. The show’s monthslong break came at a perfect time for her as she’s been out on maternity leave.

The Athletic also reported that Brandt will “remain on the show in a hybrid model where he will be in a New York studio for at least part of the time,” while Schrager’s involvement, if any, has yet to be determined. Schrager is also a senior national NFL writer for Fox Sports.
Aside from Erdahl’s acknowledgement that she’ll resume hosting duties when “GMFB” returns from its hiatus, NFL Network hasn’t made any other details public about the show’s future.
“GMFB” originally aired weekdays at 9 a.m. ET on NFL Network, but with the show moving from the East to the West coast, it’s not known if it will be a new time slot or get a new cast of hosts.
