Luka Doncic had three different ailments listed on the injury report for Game 2. That’s the same number of buckets he hit in the game’s first 3:09.

Despite having injuries to both legs and his chest, Doncic came out aggressively in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. He made three of his first four shots from the floor, not letting his sprained knee stop him from hitting jumpers over Derrick White.

Doncic isn’t exactly moving fast so far, but he doesn’t move all that fast when he isn’t injured. There’s no denying that he’s somewhat hampered with physical ailments at this point in the playoffs, but listing three different injuries ahead of Game 2 may have been more Mavericks gamesmanship. Like calling Jaylen Brown Boston’s best player.
Jason Kidd was asked what makes going up against Jaylen Brown so challenging:

It doesn’t look like Boston has guarded Doncic any differently based on any supposed injuries; he’s simply making shots as the Celtics try multiple defenders on the Dallas star. No one has wrapped up Doncic to the extent that the Mavericks medical staff did before the game.

After shooting 12-for-26 in Game 1, Doncic was 5-for-7 through the first quarter of Game 2, with 13 points, plus an assist and two rebounds.
Without a healthy Doncic, the Mavericks are in big trouble. So far in Game 2, they’re holding their own. Of course, then he had to leave early in the first with a cut.
