The Truck Series playoff bubble is about as close as it can be after the 14th race of the 2024 season at Pocono.
While it was Corey Heim who won a series-leading fifth race of the year at the "Tricky Triangle," the battle to make the 10-driver postseason field only intensified. Here's where the field sits with two races remaining in the regular season.
5. Ty Majeski (+125)
6. Tyler Ankrum (+49)
Enfinger got off to a slow start with his new team in 2024 but has come up clutch in a tight points battle over the last five races. Over his last five starts, Enfinger has four finishes inside the top six and none worse than 17th, helping him rise from 11th in the standings to seventh. Enfinger won at IRP - the site of the Truck Series' next race — in 2022, so don't be surprised if he puts on another stellar showing in Indianapolis.
Gray didn't do anything wrong on Friday, bringing his No. 17 truck home fourth, but his points situation didn't change all that much. The next two races will be all about mitigating risk for the No. 17 team, as Gray will be a dark-horse championship threat so long as he makes the playoff field.
Inconsistency continues to plague the defending Truck Series champion, who could on muster up an 18th-place finish on Friday. Rhodes must pick up the pace in order to ensure a playoff spot, but once the postseason begins, he'll look to once more shock the world and win a third Truck Series championship.
It's safe to say that not many fans expected a breakout year for Dye in 2024, but he currently holds the 10th and final playoff spot. Dye's 16th-place finish isn't anything to write home about, but the No. 43 team continues to get faster by the week. The next two races will be pivotal for Dye's season and his career, as making a playoff run for the first time would prove a lot of doubters wrong.
It's all up to the older of the Gray brothers to dig deep and earn a playoff spot for the first time in his five-year career. In the past, Gray would start off strong before crumbling halfway through the regular season. 2024 is the best he's ever performed this late in the year, and he can't afford to once again have his season turn to dust. It's now or never for Gray, who needs to prove he can come through in the clutch moments - or risk seeing his NASCAR career slowly fade into the shadows.
Friesen now finds himself very much within striking distance of a playoff spot, gaining 13 points on the cut line with a much-needed seventh-place finish. Races like Friday need to become the norm rather than an outlier for the No. 52 team, but if the veteran driver can sneak into the playoffs, there's no telling what could happen.
Crafton only gained seven points on the cut line, but an eighth-place run shows that there's a sign of life in what's been a mostly dormant No. 88 team. While a win is likely needed for the three-time champ to chase a fourth title, there'd be no better time for Crafton to end his over four-year winless streak than at IRP or Richmond.
14. Chase Purdy (-52)
15. Jake Garcia (-73)
16. Dean Thompson (-89)
