The 2024-25 college football season is still a little over two weeks away but the online banter between teams is already in full swing.
Tuesday, the Colorado Buffaloes' social team found itself in online crosshairs over a spliced video posted on X depicting quarterback Shadeur Sanders throwing a pass into the end zone during camp.
The video, captioned "Darts only," then cuts to receiver LaJohntay Wester catching a ball, presumably from Sanders.

The jarring cut from the backside view of Sanders to a shot of the endzone corner with Wester had users speculating Colorado social media managers potentially edited a video of a Sanders incompletion with that of a touchdown catch to make the quarterback look good.
But Wester and Sanders' teammates brought out the receipts and proved the post was not a deception but instead just an awkwardly cut video of a real touchdown.
I seen people saying that throw went out of bounds so here’s a better angle of that DOT‼️ good things happen when 2 has a clean pocket like i said ♂️ pic.twitter.com/AEpBs7S2Lp

However, that didn't stop other teams from taking advantage of the Buffs' unforced error online.
The Arkansas Razorbacks' social team posted an edited video of quarterback Taylen Green throwing a touchdown to receiver Isaiah Sategna Wednesday afternoon, also captioned "darts only," in an apparent jab at Colorado.

And the Idaho Vandals got in on the trolling too Wednesday night, posting a more obviously edited, tongue-in-cheek video of quarterback Jack Layne — first throwing a pass indoors, then cut to himself outdoors catching the ball in what's supposed to be interpreted as the same play.

Colorado likely won't be seeing Arkansas or Idaho on the gridiron this season but the internet's unlimited memory will be sure to bring this episode full circle at some point down the schedule.
