Even though he has been a starting quarterback for just one full season in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers still saw enough from Jordan Love to make him — for now — the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.
It is a bold investment, but it could potentially be a wise one if Love continues on the trajectory he showed during the 2023 season.
It might only be the first preseason game, but Love gave the Packers and their fans a reminder on Saturday that he does, in fact, have enormous ability.
He only threw two passes against the Cleveland Browns, completing both of them, including this absolute strike just one minute into the game for a 65-yard touchdown to Dontayvion Wicks.

Get used to that because you might see it a lot this season.
Love threw for 4,159 yards during the 2023 season with 32 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions. He played his best football in the second half of the season when he went from "promising young starter" to "complete superstar" over the final 10 weeks of the season, leading the Packers to the playoffs and the divisional round of the postseason.
The most important part of a contending team in the NFL is having the right quarterback. The Packers seem to have hit another home run to continue an unbelievable 30-year run that previously included Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.
