Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman and left fielder Yordan Alvarez demolished the Boston Red Sox pitching rotation on Sunday.
At the top of the fifth inning, with the Astros up 1-0, Bregman crushed a 92 mph pitch from Red Sox relief pitcher Brennan Bernardino over the Green Monster for a three-run homer. On the next at-bat, Alvarez homered to center field.

The Astros earned their fifth straight victory in a 10-2 win. The Bregman-Alvarez duo is one reason Houston is rolling.
Entering Sunday's matchup, Bregman had logged a .343 batting average and a .978 OPS on 35 at-bats in August. Alvarez, meanwhile, had generated a .400 batting average and a sensational 1.380 OPS in 30 at-bats in August.
Per Ken Powtak of the Associated Press, Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Alvarez reminds him of former Boston star and Hall of Famer David Ortiz after a 5-4 loss on Saturday.
The Astros (62-55) hold a half-game lead over the Seattle Mariners (62-56) in the American League West. Alvarez and Bregman hitting more home runs could certainly help Houston clinch its fourth consecutive division title.
