The Dallas Cowboys accomplished one of their offseason goals Monday, inking star wideout CeeDee Lamb to a four-year, $136 million extension.
It’s a well-deserved pay raise for Lamb, who now becomes the second highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. His teammate, linebacker Micah Parsons, was happy to see him get paid, offering his congratulations on his “The Edge” podcast.

“Congratulations to my man CeeDee Lamb,” Parsons said. “Couldn’t be happier for the guy. One of the best dudes in the locker room. One of the best players on our team and to get the payday he got to take care of his family — I couldn’t be more happier for CeeDee, so congratulations to my brother CeeDee Lamb. Man, it’s a dream to be watching you, partnering and suiting up with you every week. So, congratulations on your bread. You earned every dollar.”
Lamb, 25, had been in the middle of a training camp holdout as he sought after a long-term extension from the Cowboys. He is coming off a season in which he led the NFL with 135 receptions to go along with a career high 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lamb has tallied three consecutive 1,000-yard plus receiving seasons, earning Second-Team All-Pro Honors in 2022 and a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2023.

“I was excited, but I think just like anything your being updated frequently on where things stand,” head coach Mike McCarthy said, via Todd Archer of ESPN. “I was anticipating a sooner or later type situation today, so, yeah, it was good to get this done. Think we’re all relieved.”
With Lamb signed for the long-haul, Dallas will turn its attention to getting extensions done for both Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott. Parsons, whose current deal runs through the 2025 season, has 40.5 sacks in three seasons with the Cowboys. He is scheduled to make $21.32 million in 2025 if he does not sign an extension sooner.
Parsons said at the start of camp he can’t see himself playing in another uniform.
“When you talk about career and legacy, I don’t think there’s a better career you can have than when you’re playing for the star and you have a chance to be the best with the star and you retire a Cowboy,” Parsons said last month. “You look at [Jason] Witten, you look at Michael Irvin, you look at Emmitt [Smith]. You see they’re still in the community, still active. The star holds so much weight and the legacy that brings.
“Look at Charles [Haley], he still bothers me in the locker room every week. There’s nothing like wearing the star when you do it the right way. So, in terms of being here, I want to be here my whole life. I plan on building a house here and being in Dallas forever. I love the city. Love the community. I love for what it stands for.”
Prescott, meanwhile, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025. Talks remain ongoing about an extension, with Jeremy Fowler of ESPN saying Sunday Dallas plans to get it done by Week 1.
“They’re gonna try to get Prescott done before Week 1 as well. And double down on both these guys and spend a ton of money,” Fowler said. “So, it’s still unclear if they can pull this off.”
