Watch: Kylian Mbappe scores twice in La Liga debut

The Spanish La Liga season started Aug. 18 and fans of Real Madrid were clamoring for recent signing Kylian Mbappe to open his account as soon as possible.

Three weeks and four matches later, the French superstar finally delivered with a strike against Real Betis on Sunday.

The 25-year-old added his name to the official annals of La Liga goal scorers in the 67th minute after teammate Fede Valverde slipped a ball past several defenders into the penalty box, where Mbappe perfectly timed his run and finished off the assist to put Madrid up 1-0.

But he wasn't done there. Mbappe slotted the ball home on a 76th minute penalty strike to double Madrid's lead and all but secure the victory over Betis.

Madrid signed Mbappe in June on a free transfer from Paris-Saint Germain, beating out several English and Saudi Arabian clubs for his signature.

His first appearance for the Spanish giants was in the UEFA Super Cup where he tallied his first continental goal for the club against Europa League champions Atalanta.

If history is any indicator, Mbappe's scoring streaks tend to last once he gets hot. So, Madrid fans look to be in for a treat with him up front for their squad this year.
