Watch: Kahleah Copper, Brittney Griner excited to clinch playoff spot after Mercury’s 74-66 win over Dream

Phoenix Mercury stars Kahleah Copper and Brittney Griner react to securing a playoff spot, what it was like to play without Natasha Cloud who was suspended, how rookie Celeste Taylor did in her first WNBA start and more after the 74-66 win over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night.

Copper had 28 points as she was in a back-and-forth scoring battle with Dream guard Rhyne Howard. This was Copper’s 20th game of the season with 20-plus points and 13th with 25-plus points.

Griner accumulated 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal vs. Atlanta.

The Mercury are 17-17 on the season and needed to not just win against the Dream, but needed the Chicago Sky to lose to the Las Vegas Aces. The Aces crushed the Sky 91-70 on Tuesday, helping the Mercury clinch a spot in the postseason.
