The Green Bay Packers undoubtedly breathed an initial sigh of relief when it was revealed that franchise quarterback Jordan Love's knee injury was an MCL sprain of the lesser variety.
Initial reports from ESPN's Adam Schefter indicated that the timeline for Love's return should be three to four weeks, and now there's a new update coming out of Green Bay that would indicate that the Packers feel confident that Love may recover sooner rather than later.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers aren't putting Love on the injured reserve. In fact, head coach Matt LaFleur didn't even technically rule him out for this weekend's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
"If he gets cleared, we'll give him every opportunity like we always will," LaFleur said of Love. "I know he's doing everything in his power. I know he's spending a lot of time trying to get back as soon as possible. But certainly we're not going to put him in a position where if he can't protect himself that he'd go out there."
LaFleur confirmed that the Packers will start Malik Willis in Love's absence with Sean Clifford — who was cut from the team and picked up back on the practice squad before Love's injury — as the backup.
Had the Packers placed Love on the IR, he would have had to miss four games, so perhaps they do have reason to believe that he can be back soon.
Either way, it seems to be good news for the Pack.
