Chiefs WR not expected to play during 2024 regular season

The Kansas City Chiefs already knew they were going to be without wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown for a few weeks.

They are finding out on Saturday that it's going to be significantly longer than that.

According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday, Brown is not expected to play at all during the 2024 season, taking away what would have been a significant player for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the team's offense.

Brown signed with the Chiefs in free agency with the expectation he could help improve the one position that was a glaring weakness on last year's team.

He suffered a shoulder injury on his first play in the preseason.

With Brown out of the picture for the regular season, that is going to put the focus on second-year player Rashee Rice, rookie Xavier Worthy and tight end Travis Kelce. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl a year ago with less talent at the position, but it is still a big loss to not have one of their top offseason additions in the lineup.
