The Washington Commanders earned their first win under new HC Dan Quinn on Sunday, knocking off the New York Giants 21-18 at Northwest Stadium courtesy of their kicker Austin Seibert.
After cutting ties with kicker Cade York last week, Seibert, who was signed to Washington's active roster this past Tuesday, accounted for all of the team's points in the contest. The 2019 fifth-round pick made all seven of his field goal attempts, a franchise record, including the 30-yard game-winner while time expired.

The Giants (0-2), on the other hand, had kicking issues of their own during Sunday's matchup, which played a major role in their loss.
On Saturday, Giants kicker Graham Gano popped up on the team's injury report with a groin injury. Rather than elevating a backup to the active roster, New York questionably opted to let Gano start on Sunday, only for the 37-year-old to injure his hamstring on the opening kickoff.
After RB Devin Singletary scored a first-quarter touchdown, the Giants rolled out punter Jamie Gillan to attempt the extra point, but the "Scottish Hammer" wasn't able to convert. As a result, the Giants didn't attempt another extra point or field goal attempt in the game, which cost them dearly as they failed to convert on a pair of two-point conversion attempts.
New York also had an opportunity to put the game away late in the fourth quarter. However, rookie WR Malik Nabers, who caught 10 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown, dropped a fourth-down pass from QB Daniel Jones deep in Washington territory with 2:12 remaining.
The Commanders, led by rookie QB Jayden Daniels (270 total yards on Sunday), promptly went on an eight-play, 65-yard drive to set up Seibert's game-clinching field goal. While the Commanders will need more from their offense going forward, Sunday's win provides the team with plenty of momentum heading into a Week 3 road clash against the Cincinnati Bengals on "Monday Night Football."
