The New Orleans Saints offense is off to a blistering start in the 2024 NFL season, scoring 47 points in their opener against the Carolina Panthers and following it up with 44 in a statement win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
As they prepare for their Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Saints are on the verge of making history as just the third team in NFL history to score 40 or more points in three consecutive games.
Only the 1941 Chicago Bears and the 2007 16-0 New England Patriots have achieved this feat. New Orleans is the fifth team since 1975 to begin a season with two consecutive 40-point games, per Stathead. This offensive explosion has been spearheaded by new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who joined the Saints after a successful stint with the San Francisco 49ers.

Kubiak’s impact has been immediately felt, helping quarterback Derek Carr elevate his game. Carr leads the NFL in total QBR (96.2), is first in passing touchdowns (five) and is tied for first in passes over 40 yards (three).
Carr praised Kubiak and his system after Sunday’s win.
"There is a lot of things in this offense the way Klint [Kubiak, offensive coordinator] does things, the way he sets me up for success, puts me in position for success, it allows me to do a lot of things I enjoy doing as a quarterback," Carr said.
Another key contributor to the Saints’ offensive success has been running back Alvin Kamara, who ranks fifth in the league with 198 rushing yards and leads the NFL in total touchdowns after scoring four against the Cowboys.

The Saints’ next test will come this weekend, where a third consecutive 40-point game would not only extend their unbeaten start but place them in the history books alongside some of the most dominant teams in NFL history.
